64-PORT PATCH PANEL CAT5

The NUMERIQUE 64-PORT PATCH PANEL CAT5 has 64 ports in the front which are hard-wired to 64 terminals at the back. The ports are numbered. The terminals at the back are also numbered and colour-coded for easy termination of wires.

The cables from the different Work Stations in the network terminate at the back of the NUMERIQUE 64-PORT PATCH PANEL CAT5. The termination is done on the Patch Panel terminals with a Punch-Down tool. The numbered and colour-coded terminals ease the cable termination. The terminated cables are already hard-wired to the different ports of the Patch Panel.

At the front of the NUMERIQUE 64-PORT PATCH PANEL CAT5, the Patch Panel ports are “jumpered” to the network switch using NEXION patch cables (or “Fly-Cables” or “Fly-Leads”). A direct connection, swappable when necessary, has thus been made from the Work Station / Faceplate to the Network Switch. The Patch Panel facilitated this.

The advantage of using the 64-PORT PATCH PANEL is that it allows manual monitoring, testing, switching, and other maintenance activities to be handled quickly in any high-volume UTP installation. This is because the cables in the front that connect to the more permanent cables in the back are easily swappable so that changes can be made quickly and easily when necessary. You do not have to re-run cables every time you want to maintain or swap locations.
